Vivo V50: Specs, features

The Vivo V50 has borrowed some features from its predecessor, the Vivo V40. The latest model is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, which was also used by the V40 smartphone. It is backed by up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. It retains the dual rear camera unit, comprising two 50-megapixel sensors. While the camera system is the same as the older model, the company claims that the new version has different 50-megapixel sensors compared to its predecessor. For selfies, it comes with a 50-megapixel camera. The Vivo V50 features the same 6.78-inch quad-curved FHD+ display. The panel refreshes at 120Hz. So, these features are the same as the older model.

In addition to this, you get the same design blueprint as on the V40 series, but the new model now comes in fresh colours. It comes in Titanium Grey, Rose Red and Starry Night colour options. The device has a glass back panel and a slimmer body compared to the V40. It has a thickness of over 7.39mm and weighs about 199g.

The new version packs a larger battery with support for better charging speed. There is a 6,000mAh battery under the hood, compared to the 5,500mAh unit seen on the previous model. The Vivo V50 has support for 90W charging, up from 80W power. Lastly, it has support for both IP68 and IP69 ratings for better protection against submersion in water (up to a certain point of course). This is a bit surprising because we see these IP ratings on ultra-premium smartphones. It even comes with AI features like Circle to Search, AI Transcript, AI Live Call Translation and more. The company is also claiming that users will get a better camera experience with the Vivo V50.
