Xiaomi 15 India launch date confirmed: Design, specs, price and more

Xiaomi India has teased the launch date of its upcoming Xiaomi 15 series in India. The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra are set to be released on March 2.

Xiaomi has finally announced the launch date of the Xiaomi 15 series in India – March 2. The company is expected to unveil two models, 15 and 15 Ultra, on the day. While the company has kept most of the details to themselves, the rumours and leaks have been doing the rounds for sometime. Additionally, the phones were also launched in China in October last year and the Indian variant is expected to mimic the same features and specs. Let's take a look at what is coming on March 2.


Xiaomi 15 series India launch on March 2

As soon as the company teased the launch date, the leaks have been sharing details around the phones. Tipster Abhishek Yadav, took to X (formerly Twitter), sharing how the phones might look like. According to the leaks, the Ultra variant will come in three colour variants: Black, White and Black and white (Panda-like).

Both the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra are expected to come with a base configuration of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, with options available to upgrade to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, similar to the Chinese variants.

The Xiaomi 15 might sport a 6.36-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Its flat screen boasts ultra-slim 1.38 mm bezels, and it houses a powerful 5,500 mAh battery that supports fast charging at 90W wired and 50W wireless.

The Xiaomi 15 is also expected to highlight a Leica-powered triple camera system, led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, along with a 32-megapixel front camera. It runs on HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, while maintaining a similar look to the base model, comes with a larger 6.73-inch 2K display featuring a micro quad-curved design. It is equipped with a 6,100 mAh battery, supporting the same 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Both models feature a 50-megapixel triple camera setup, but the Xiaomi 15 Ultra distinguishes itself with a telephoto lens that supports periscope-style zoom, offering up to 5x optical zoom, whereas the Xiaomi 15 has a 3x optical zoom.

Xiaomi 15 series expected price in India

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to be priced around CNY 6,499, which is approximately Rs 78,000 or $892. Positioned as a direct competitor to flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max, it remains uncertain whether the device will be launched in India and how Xiaomi will price it. For reference, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra's 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant was launched in India at Rs 99,999.
